Reports show that to hug someone for 20 seconds has a greater effect on the body than we may realize. The “love drug” otherwise known as oxytocin is increased when we hug for any amount of time, although they say 20 seconds has a lasting impact on the stress one holds. When stress kicks in, our cortisol levels increase. Learning to hug more could help to lower that stress by reducing our blood pressure and lowering our heart rate.
In my opinion, the world is lacking love on so many levels. It amazes me when people look bemused if you open your arms to hug them; how about we put a stop to that today!
Hug a friend
Hug a child
Hug a tree,
And if our paths do cross, you can happily hug me 🙂
We need to open out hearts to the world and the people in it and let go of fear, judgment and resistance. We should always live from the heart, a place of LOVE and NOT the head which is our EGO. I believe it is only when we live from this place, that the true magic will take care of you.
Get out there and see if you can hug 3 people today!
